Think, think, think ... - Matthew Willoughby

Matthew Willoughby is an aspiring writer raised in the Maryland countryside. He first developed a passion for the written word during a sixth grade Language Arts assignment, where he wrote a 120-page adaptation of the film "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace."

A founding member of his Boy Scout troop, Matthew served as the troop's Scribe continuously for six years, and was the first member to achieve the Eagle rank.

He graduated from Gettysburg College in 2010 with a degree in English with a writing concentration, graduating summa cum laude and with departmental honors. He is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta Honor Societies.

In the summers of 2009 and 2010, he interned for his local government's Office of Public Information, where he was responsible for drafting news releases, monthly newsletter articles, and other written works.

Matthew's interests are diverse and somewhat eccentric, ranging from politics and popular culture to philosophy and classical literature to science fiction and professional wrestling. He lives on a small farm with his family--including three dogs, seven cats, and two horses.

While not sure what he plans to do with the rest of his life, one thing is clear: Matthew will continue to make the written word a cornerstone of his success.
